The eighth wonder of the world with its incredible natural beauty, its thousand-year old history and extravagant jet-set which is concentrated in the famous "Piazzetta". The white rocks plunge into a cobalt blue sea, visited every year by the world's biggest yachts. The famous Blue Grotto together with the lesser know white and green grottos are unforgettable natural attractions, as the boat trip through the natural arch of the central Faraglione rock will be equally unforgettable.
Also the historical and archaeological side of the island is not to be underestimated. Villa San Michele, a beautiful Villa-museum made famous by Axel Munthe, who made it his preferred residence. Villa Jovis, which was once that of Emperor Tiberius, situated in an extremely panoramic position, where Roman ruins can be visited only if you are willing to take a small walk.
Capri can be easily reached from Sorrento by public hydrofoil (25 mins). The island is divided into two small towns, Capri and Anacapri that are about 20 minutes from each other by car or bus. However, the most panoramic sights are accessible only by boat or on foot. A visit of the island requires a full day or even two. You cannot bring cars or scooters. The famous funicular quickly and efficiently connects the port with the Piazzetta.
