The Amalfi Coast is known throughout the world for its beautiful landscape. It is a stretch of coastline of about 50 km with many charming towns (more or less known) built into the rock.
Together with its amazing landscape, a trip to the Coast incorporates a shopping delight (especially in Positano), a visit to some must-see monuments (such as the Cathedral of Amalfi and Villa Rufolo in Ravello) and the chance to taste some local delicacies. Starting from Vico Equense you will go through consecutively: Positano, Praiano, the fjord of Furore, The Emerald Grotto, Conca dei Marini, Amalfi, Ravello, Maiori, Minori, Cetara, Erchie and Vietri. It is one of the most spectacular roads in Italy and throughout the world.
The Amalfi Coast is easy to reach from Vico Equense, by car or motor scooter, by frequent public bus services, by ferry, with the CitySightseeing bus for Positano, with guided group excursions or with a private chauffeur-driven car (all of which can be booked through reception).
The Concierge's advice: Visiting the coast allows you to discover many of the small villages while enjoying spectacular views. The most beautiful part of the coast is from Sorrento to Amalfi (about 35 km). A complete visit requires a full day.
The best way to see the coast is by hiring a scooter (which avoids the problem of parking) or by car with a driver who, knowing the area perfectly, will also show you the more secluded places with the possibility of customising the itinerary depending on your personal interests.
